Simon Phoenix is the Antagonist
His only Flaw is that he is too overconfident
Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) is a ruthless criminal from the 1990s who has been incarcerated in Cryoprison, this keeps all prisoners frozen in suspended animation. He escapes during a parole hearing and begins his reign of terror of San Angeles. The only man to stop him is a cop from the 1990s John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) who was the only one who could capture Simon Phoenix and was sentenced to suspended animation because of Simon Phoenix.
Jack Cates (48 Hours)
Jacks role in the film is the Protagonist
His flaw is that he is a hot tempered cop who drinks and smokes too much always finding ways to look bad.
Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) is an alcoholic, chain smoking Cop from San Francisco. He teams up with convict Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) and tries to take down Reggie’s former partners Albert Ganz and Billy Bear who are after the $500,000 Reggie has stashed away in the trunk of his car. After finally working out his issues with Hammond, Jack tracks down Ganz and Bear and finishes the job.
Clark Kent/ Kal-el/Superman (Superman)
He plays the Protagonist in this film
His flaw is that he can be defeated by Kryptonite, Pieces of his Home World
Clark Kent (Christopher reeves) is the last son of Krypton he is sent to earth in a ship that his father built to ensure his only son’s survival of the destruction of their home world krypton. When Clark lands on earth he is found by Jonathan and Martha Kent two kinds hearted people. Raised on a farm Clark learns responsibilities and respect and grows into his powers. After the death of his father he moves to Metropolis to become a reporter for the popular paper the Daily Planet. Its at this point that Clark understands what he must do, so he uses his powers to fight for truth, justice and the American way. His rival is Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) he has other ideas for Superman.
